in 2026 a new film lab emerged in India - offering super8, 16mm and 35mm motion picture developing services and full logistical and post production support for makers shooting on film.
Arts studio Harkat Studios founders Karan and Michaela Talwar, along with cinematographer Krish Makhija started a new chapter of celluloid motion picture film in India - with renewed energy.
The collective intention is to not only make it easy for makers in South Asia to shoot on film, but also extend this with training programmes, making the lab an active space of community and knowledge.
It's a natural step for the work Harkat has been doing since years in the subcontinent and with projects already on floor, Monsoon Colour Lab negatives will see the silver screen very soon.
